Two days in Munich, Germany

Day 1

Start your day with a walking tour of the old town.

Afterward, check out the wave surfing at the English Garden.

At night, visit Hofbräuhaus. They do have non-alcoholic beer for 5.7 Euros as well.

Day 2

Visit the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site. This was the first concentration camp established by the Nazis. I would recommend buying M1 day pass for public transport for that day.

There is no entrance fee for the memorial site. The audio guide is available in multiple languages for 4 Euros. However, the placards are very informative, so you don’t lose much by not taking the audio guide.

Afterward, I visited BMW museum, which has a 15-euro entrance fee. I would not recommend it unless you are a BMW fan. The museum is detailed but still fairly boring.

Then I visited the Hunting and Fishing Museum, which has a 7-euro entrance fee. The hunting section has some English translations. The fishing section has placards only in German. It is interesting but still fairly unremarkable.

Try checking out the Dallmayr bakery. In the 1700s, it supplied food to the royal family of Bavaria. The shop has a wide variety of vegan delicacies and is fairly reasonably priced.

Note

1. Like many catholic cities, 90% of shops are closed on Sundays in Munich.
2. Most toilets in Munich are pay toilets. Some are free near the city center.
